You should have arrived from the fantastic Jacquie Dean. If you're just popping in you can start from the beginning at the Spellbinders Blog.
To celebrate this release, Spellbinders is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 3 lucky blog readers – selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop. Giveaway closes on Sunday, February 24th 11:59 pm EDT. Winners will be announced in our blog hop post the following Monday. Winner is responsible for shipping cost, duties and taxes.
If you've been here before you know I'm a huge Stephanie Low fan so I was a bit excited to play. This collection is so beautiful. You can check out the whole thing here.
I decided to do a bit of white heat embossing with some distress ink/distress oxide watercoloring. Yes, I knoe they're two different products. I used both. I couldn't choose between them because I love the soft background the oxides give but I also super love the bright shades the original distress inks have.

I opted to let each of them do what they are good at. I stamped in Versamark and heat set the large floral heart in white. I then masked it and added two of the little flowers to either side of the large heart and heat embossed them too. I used a rainbow of distress oxides to do a light wash in the background painting right over the images.
Once that was dry I added some flicks of perfect pearls for some shine. I then went back into each image with the same colors in distress ink to add some shading. I know this messy paint look isn't for everyone but I love how the colors mix together! I used a bit of black soot to create a shadow around the stamped images and break them up from the background.
The watercolor panel was adhered with foam adhesive to a white card base. Then the die cut sentiment was adhered flat.
By now you know the deal. I have a video but it's not done. Check back :)
Your next stop on the hop is my amazingly talented friend Emily Midgett who I know has created something amazing.
Here's a list of the entire hop in case you miss a stop along the way
Thanks so much for visiting!
