Hello Crafters!
Welcome to day 4 of the Altenew 5th Anniversary Celebration! You should have arrived from the talented Terri Koszler's Blog If you're just stopping by You can start at the very beginning with the Altenew Card Blog which you'll definitely want to do because, guys, there are so many prizes to be won!
Altenew has so many wonderful sponsors for this celebration they'll be giving away 33 prizes! Be
sure to leave comments by 4/12/2019 for a chance to win! The 33 winners will be chosen at random from the comments left on any of the blogs listed below and will be announced on the Altenew Blog on 4/20/2019.
Okay let's talk cards :)
One of my all time favorite sets from Altenew is there Vintage teacup. I thought it was only fitting to celebrate their anniversary using it!
I started by stamping and masking all of my elements. I like to use my masks to make sure I get everything lined up. When you stamp a one layer card the object in the foreground (front) gets stamped first so in this card that means the large yellow flower. In order to make sure I get placement perfect I use my MISTI, put down my cup mask, then position the flower stamp over it. I pick up the stamp with my MISTI dorr, remove the mask and stamp knowing it's exactly where I want it!
Once all my stamping was done I used my Artist markers to start coloring. No matter how many times I've used this stamp I've never made the cup and saucer a color. You know I love me some blue so that was an easy winner!
After all my coloring was done I added some accents and highlights using gel pens. A gold pen made it super easy to add gold accents to the cup and saucer. My white gel pen added a few highlights to my flower petals.
You know the deal, there's a video but it's not done. Not enough hours in the day ya'll.
Finally got it done guys. Enjoy!
Your next stop on the hop is the amazing Anna Komenda!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteI love how despite the fact that you're a floral kind of gal and the fact that Altenew is a floral company, your favorite stamp set is what? Teacups. :D Not that I blame you; this is a great set. I often find myself thinking that I want to put things in a teacup on my cards, so this is a far more versatile set than I originally thought. I look forward to seeing the video whenever you can put it together.

ReplyDeleteI was looking for a review of the Altenew markers and found your Youtube channel and blog. Love the cards you’ve done and how you show your coloring procedure. I never gave a thought to that Vintage teacup set until I saw your card ... there doesn’t seem to be a link for the gold pen? Thank you for sharing your creative efforts - I learn so much from artists like you.
ReplyDeleteHoly masking batman! Love this, I need to mask more, your coloring is beautiful! Thanks for sharing and Happy Anniversary Altenew!
ReplyDeleteA lovely card......beautiful and amazing in every way! Many thanks for sharing, and for celebrating Altenew!
ReplyDeleteSo I always see card makers like you take all the time necessary to create MASTERPIECES and then your last step is stamping on the sentiment. To me THIS IS CRAZY. I find myself holding my breath to see if you get a good impression. Anxiety. Sweating. Almost passing out from the tension. And in my mind I’m thinking, “I bet these people play Russian Roulette as their “fun” hobby what with them being so reckless with their cards and all...” So please tell me, why do you do it in this order?? Why not stamp the sentiment when you stamp everything else? WHYYYYYY???
ReplyDeleteAnyway, LOVE your videos and your complete fearlessness of last-step-sentimenting.
luv that stamp. pretty card!
ReplyDeletewonderful card!

Hi Kelly, I really love watching your videos...you are so talented and it inspires me to continue making cards. I've just returned to my pursuit of arts and crafts after a long illness....so I watch you and am learning about colouring with alcohol markers, something I had not used before....and get ideas of what to do and to use, such as materials eg Altenew's Fabulous stamp sets and Artist Markers....plus you always make the viewing sooo much fun with your tales of your life, friends, family, Peanut and your lovely man Eric....I so enjoy laughing along with you too. Keep up the great card making, the videos and inspiring people with laughter and art. Lotsa love, Sue
