Okay ya'll this tropical release had me all giddy but ultimately you know I couldn't resist the flowers. I had to use those hibiscus!
I was chatting with my crafty friend and she sent me some pictures of her experiments with Alcohol Pearls. I've had mine for awhile and just haven't used them. I figured it was about time to change that!
I started by dropping some Alcohol Blending solution on my Yupo paper then added 4 different yellows, greens, and blues. I knew I wanted it to be a background for the flowers and this color combo felt like a great match! I let it dry for quite awhile before I added the gold foiling. You can see an entire video with that process here. I love the gold foil accents but I wanted to try a more subtle way to add interest.
I decided to try a stencil technique I saw Jennifer McGuire do quite a while back. You can see here full video here. It's super easy and fun! I laid my stencil over my background then dipped a foam ink blender into some alcohol blending solution. I swirled the foam over the background to remove some of the color and leave the stencil impression. It's really subtle because that's what I wanted but you can get really dramatic with it. Also, I didn't remove or damage my gold foil at all.
As my focal point I stamped, copic colored, and fussy cut my flowers and leaves. I opted for a bright yellowish orange so the colors would pop off the background but still be complimentary.
Here's a couple close ups of the foil and stenciling.
Foil is so hard to photograph but it's so pretty in real life it's worth it.
You know the deal, there's a video but it ain't done yet :)
Your next stop on the hop is the amazing Eloise Blue
Thank you so much for stopping by!
