We found time to sneak up the lake cottage for a little while and we had beautiful weather!
Ever since I made these cards I have been having serious regret over not including some flowers with my geometric shapes. I'm going to rectify that today with this Honey Bee Stamps card. !
I chose to create a triangle frame as the base of my focal point in black. Why? Because neutrals are a great base and also because I love black with bright colors! To add a bit of extra fun I used a mirror cardstock in glossy black.
Once I had my frame cut I used it to pick out with flowers would fit well with the size. I ended up stamping two flowers and two extra leaves. I colored them all up with my copic markers before die cutting them out. While I had my Platinum out I also die cut the because sentiment. The black halo is also the glossy black cardstock. Because, matchy matchy :)
I heat embossed the other portion of my sentiment on regular black cardstock. Anything glossy is slick and I didn't want to risk smearing the sentiment. A few Moonlight Rhinestones pulled the entire card together.

I really love the way this one came out. One layer is still my first love but every once in a while it's nice to do something a little different :)
In this photo you can see the shine the mirror cardstock gives. It's so pretty in real life!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card and great layout with the triangle. Thank you so much for the great story, I am still laughing over the spiders on a merry-go-round. I totally understand that it's awful when you want to enjoy a romantic evening by the lake and there comes the spider family, but for stories it's awesome! Thank you so much for showing your gorgeous card and hope the spiders stay out of your life.
