I have 4 cards and a video for you today!
While that part is super exciting let me apologize for the somewhat dark photography. It was 2:00 am and I have limited options for multi card photos. I'm hoping to update them later! **updated with much brighter photos!**
I really fell hard for the Crystal Frames set. I love all things geometric so I just couldn't resist them! I decided to do some watercoloring with them since I felt like it was my best bet to get organic color variation.
When watercoloring with my Altenew watercolor markers I like to lay down the color where I want it to be the darkest. Then I start laying down clean water where I want it to be the lightest. Bringing the clean water to the pigment allows the color to carry naturally into the water instead of me dragging it and causing a flat wash of color.
For the second card I wanted to try a rainbow effect on multiple crystals. I don't know if I love this one or not but I think that has more to do with the composition than the color. On each of the cards I added some Perfect Pearls while the watercolor was wet. You can't add it in it's powdered form dry or it has nothing to bind too.
I also tried out a few pigment inks from Altenew for these cards. I was pleasantly surprised! I'm impatient so I don't normally reach for pigment inks. They take too long to dry! However, these dried quickly and I had no issues with bleeding or smearing. I tried two different gold colors to complete my designs and loved them both!
This card is by far my least favorite. I am well aware that it could just be a style thing for me. I don't typically do "busy" cards unless it's a scene. However, I couldn't leave it off because the coverage with the Enchanted Gold ink is ridiculously amazing on that Mega Hello sentiment. I mean, honestly, that coverage!!
I do have a video for you! It includes the first three cards and the sentiment stamping on the fourth. Though they were all completed with the same technique :)
I really love the metallic inks with the geometric shapes! I'll definitely be revisiting this set soon!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
