Soooo basically I couldn't stop making cards which means I have three for you today. I started out by wanting to play with with my alcohol lift ink and then I couldn't stop myself. Why are alcohol inks so addicting?!
I don't usually use alcohol inks so I wanted a starter piece to practice with. To be specific I used Alcohol Pearls for all of my backgrounds. I loved the way the practice piece came out so much I had to use it for a card.
then I went to work on the card I was actually trying to make lol. I covered my background in the same fall alcohol pearl colors and let them dry completely. Once everything was dry I used my alcohol lift ink to stamp some leaves all over the background. Each time I lifted ink I stamped it on a piece of white cardstock. This creates a light stamping of the colors you lifted.
I struggled a little bit to get a clean outline on my background. I think a few things contributed to this.
1. When they tell you to rub the background they mean it. I was blotting in the beginning and it wasn't enough to clean the ink off. Once I actually started rubbing it with a little bit of pressure it definitely showed up better.
2. I used alcohol pearls. I think the shimmer makes the lift a little harder to see.
3. I used some lighter colors. The yellow is almost impossible to see where the red and orange gave me a much better lift.
What did I do with that stamped piece from all the ink I lifted.
I made another card of course. I used a few copic colored leaves with my sentiment to create a focal point letting my lightly stamped leaves act as a background.
The background leaves a re a little easier to see in this close up.
Well today took an unexpected turn so I'm adding in the video a little later than I thought I would but here it is nonetheless!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Don't forget about the sale this weekend. It ends Monday night.
Your next stop on the hop is one of my favorite people in the world Lisa Cisneros!

Kelly I don't often leave comments but I felt the need. Love your real life and your card making. Remember God never judge our house keeping skills when we get to heaven, only how we spent our time encouraging people in our lives. You are a great encourager to many people. Nanette

ReplyDeleteI, like you, don't much care for cleaning (2 cats, no kids as of yet) and I always tell people I live in my house, so don't be offended by the mess. I work full time and cleaning is not my priority. This year, we finally made the jump to having a cleaning service come in every two weeks to do all the things we hate and it has been a god send for my mental health. Some people have commented that it is an indulgence seeing as we don't even have kids to clean up after; but hey, life is too short to do the things that you don't want to be doing. We both work full time jobs and were coming home to more work - now we both have more time to enjoy our hobbies and work on other projects around the house instead of cleaning for the majority of our weekends.
ReplyDeletePower to the messy, creative people!
Love the beautiful rich colours in the backgrounds you have created for this wonderful set of cards, Kelly! Thanks so much for sharing the wonderful inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThe shading and lines on the pumpkin make it look real. It gives depth and is very pleasing to the eye.
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful things to look at. I can't decide what is my favorite.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Kelly, I love fall colours but not the fall season.
ReplyDeleteGreat Pupmkin Stamp set!
Glad to hear that the housevisit for Emma went well en I hope for you all that she will come soon to your house.
And for the housekeeping; In the beginning of my marriage my hous was always tidied up except when my parents in law brought a surprise visit or called that they where on the way! They never said something about it, or about the dishes we put temporarily in the oven, but their eyes said enough. My husband told me then not to worry, it's our house, whe live here and everyone who says that whe have to clean I will give a cloth and a bucket with water. Since than I'm not concerned anymore what other people say, it's my house! It's not dirty or something, but you can see that whe live here, it's not a showroom.
Thanks for your video, have a great week and it's still your birthday when I post this so, A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU KELLY 🌹❤️
