Today's card is revisiting a technique I was taught a few years ago by my friend Lydia.
You won't be sorry!
I mean she got me to use colored pencils. She's obviously magic.
The trick to making your colored pencils look extra vibrant on dark cardstock is really simple.
White colored pencil.
You lay down a layer of the white to provide a bright base for your colors to sit on top of. you can also blend each layer of color with the white to make it look extra luminous but I'm too lazy for that so I just use it as a base layer :)
My floral image was die cut and popped up over a subtle background. The back ground is another really easy look to achieve. I used a clear sticky embossing ink to stamp my same floral image all over the background. The clear ink leaves a slightly darker version of the original color of the cardstock. This works on any cardstock but you can see it best on darker cardstock. Experiment with what you have!

Even though colored pencils aren't my jam I really do love the detail you can get with them. Make sure you keep those pencils sharp! It really does help to keep the edges from being mushy.

Gorgeous colouring. Must admit I colour better with pencil crayons than I do with alcohol marker, it's as if the minute you give me markers all that I know about colour combination goes out the window. Note about advert, no wonder you get mad 😠, unless her day starts at 3 am how does she get nothing to do after 3 pm ? I think many of us work harder at home after work than we do at work !
