No-Line Coloring on Colored Cardstock and Nuvo Gilded Flakes

Happy New Year!
Did we cover that already?
I can't even remember.
What day is it?

I saw a meme yesterday that said
"This is the Saturdayist Sunday Wednesday ever."
and it's 100% accurate.
This holiday season has me all turned around.
So you shouldn't be shocked when I say I made this card in November.
Now that that's out there let's talk about it a bit.

I've had these gilded flakes for five-ever and never really used them. Mixed media is a struggle for me because my style is typically a more clean and simple look. Sometimes though I run across really beautiful products and I WANT to use them. 

Maybe this has happened to you too? 

One of the first things I've learned with trying something new is JUST PLAY. It's just paper and ink guys. Cardmaking is fun. You don't need to have a Picasso at the end of every play session. It's all a learning process. 

Second thing I learned, keep trying. It might be ugly (mine sure was) it might not work (it totally didn't) but the third time. The third time was it ya'll. 

The third time was it because of my last piece of advice. You don't have to use all the things everywhere. This worked for me in a clean and simple style because I only used a little bit. So if you're feeling overwhelmed, try that.
