Copic Mirror Reflection Card

 

Hello Crafters! 

It's a late night post for me but that's not unusual. This entire week has been crazy.

 I know that's true for  lot of us. 

I'll continue to share as much as  I can. My hope is that the cards and videos offer you some joy. Some companionship for those of us actively practicing social distancing. A reminder that there are others like us, doing the same thing. 

I actually created this card about a month ago. Eric's sweet cousin sent me over a little make up bag of goodies to try after a conversation we had at Christmas. I wanted to make her a special thank you card so I went looking for a make-up specific stamp set. I loved the Timeless Beauty set from Gina K and that's what you see here. 

I drew in my vanity with pencil first. The first attempt was thwarted by me myself and I because I lined it right away. 

That's a no no because I drew lines right through where my stamped images would be.  

Ooops. 

So little grasshoppers do as I say and not as I do :) 

Draw with pencil then stamp. Draw your black outlines. 

Once the black outlines were in place I needed to stamp the reflections. I masked my stamped images then laid the stamp down directly on top of where I previously stamped it. From this position I scooted my stamp slightly up and to the right. This will create the reflection in the mirror. In order to makesure it looked like a reflection and not like a double stamped image I stamped in a light gray ink. This keeps the two images from competing. 

With all the stamping done I got started coloring. This is a very different color palette for me. It's a lot more subdued but I think it works well with the vintage feel of the card.

I'm so thankful I was able to lighten up the lines in the mirror. Bless you colorless blender haha.
