Hello Crafters!
Welcome to the Altenew Watercolor Therapy Blog Hop!
You should have arrived here from my amazing friend May's blog.
We are celebrating a little Watercolor Therapy via the wonderful Kathy Racoosin's 30 Day Coloring Challenge. The best thing about the challenge? You do as much or as little as you want. Whatever it is that makes your little heart happy.
Something else to make your heart happy?
Altenew will pick a winner to receive a $15 gift certificate from the comments left on each designer’s blog during the hop. All winners will be announced on the Altenew blog on 5/9/2020.
They also have two great deals going on to celebrate the hop.

I decided to go with a little no line watercoloring. I find one of the easiest way to do this is to get a great no line coloring result is to find an amazing layering set and use the middle layer.
I stamp the middle layer in a light ink color and then paint right over it. :)
I used Rose Quartz for all the images and because it's so light you can't even tell I stamped pink under the green or brown. Winning!
Once the watercoloring was done and dry I used the matching dies to cut out all my images.
I also did a light wash of teal-ish blues on another piece of watercolor cardstock to create my background. The sentiment, which I adore by the way, was stamped in Galatic Stream directly on my dry background. The flowers were added with a bit of foam tape for some dimension.
The branches and tiny buds were adhered flat. The medium size bloom as one layer of foam tape and the largest flower has two. You can see in the close up above how fun the different layers of dimension are!
You can see the entire process in the video below.
Your next stop on the hop is the fabulous Nicole Watt. I can't wait to see what she makes!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card. I enjoyed watching your process. And I want to give a big shout-out to you and all the moms (particularly working moms!) who have now taken on the extra job of home schooling. You are truly super heroes!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous. I really loved the color you used to stamp the design for no-line watercoloring because I thought it should always be a neutral. Well, learning curve here, because of course it doesn't and this enhanced the colors you used. Thanks for a great tip! Keep on keeping on as best you can! I am a former high school teacher from many, many years ago and I cannot imagine this for high school students, much less elementary students. You are all the unsung heroes, both teachers and parents!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Teal/Aqua background makes those pink blooms pop! Love it!
ReplyDeleteStunning! Teal and blue are some of my favourite background colours. And I love wreaths. Your water colour is so realistic and just pops those florals off the page.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful no line watercoloring! Love the pretty flowers and your color combo!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. I love those blues and think your coloring is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThis lesson really makes me want to save up for those artist grade watercolors.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the colors, love the stamp.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!
ReplyDeleteLoved your card, but it was your commentary had me laughing. I just had a call from my daughter, also an essential worker, and she said pretty much the same things you did about home schooling. With four children, just getting them to the table and all seated at the same time is a major challenge. I suggested duct tape---she didn't think it was funny! They have hired a new graduate from a teaching program who hasn't been able to find a job yet to help with the process. My daughter is also counting the minutes till all this is over. I'll add you to my prayers.
ReplyDeleteOk, so I have to give this no line watercoloring a shot. Such a pretty feel to your card. Your story made me laugh out loud. My daughter is a fifth grade teacher...so from her, I am hearing the other side. My conclusion is that you are all multi-tasking to the point of exhaustion. Me? Staying home, reading, crafting, blog hopping and staying safe. You all take care. Prayers included.
ReplyDeleteThe colors of Hawaii. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful card and your video process Kelly, thankyou.
