Today's card combines lots of bright colors with tons of texture!
I started off with the Slimline Setiments Eyelet Die. The largest die actually cuts two pieces. One is an eyelet frame and the other is the inside square. I used both pieces die cut from a bright clue cardstock. Don't have colored cardstock? No worries you can make it. We'll get there in a minute, hang tight.
I super loved the Palm Frond Coverplate but it is sized for an A2 sized card. No worries I used it anyway and love the way it came out. I ran the cover plate through the square middle piece from my Slimline Setiments Eyelet Die. After the first time I ran it through I had a square left. I lined up my square in the coverplate and cut it again.
Once the die cutting was done I created my card base by cutting 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock to 7 x 8.5 inches. I then scored in the middle at 3.5 to make the base. I wanted the background to be a tone on tone look so that it wasn't too busy for my focal point. I used Mermaid Lagoon direct to paper to create a near perfect match to my blue cardstock. I glued (using the new Honey Bee Stamp Precision Tip Glue coming soon) the palm fronds and eyelet frame die cuts to my card base. I then added some blueprint sketch randomly to highlight the palm fronds. Because I love shimmer I also spattered on some water and pearfect pearls.
I stamped the hibiscus flower and two leaves from Paradise Blooms and colored them with my copic markers. I used the matching dies to cut out the images but I wasbn't loving the white outline. I found a matching Copic marker and colored in the outline so it would blend into the background.
The sentiments from Sea Breeze were perfect to complete the card. Don't you love this font?! All the heart eyes.
