I have three cards for you today all using quick and easy watercolor backgrounds.
I used my Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers for all the backgrounds and several new sets from tody's release.
For the first background I did a simple color gradient using three different shades of green. The watercolors are super bold. I applied them to my watercolor paper and then used a wide flat brush to sweep water across the entire background.
I added a few splatters of water, each color, and gold perfect pearls. Once it was dry I used the Tall Foliage stamp and gold emobossed them onto the background. the large sentiment from Modern Greetings finished the card off.
This background is the same idea as the first but it involves mixing colors this. I laid down the colors the same way as the first background with one exception, the yellow. Yellow can get easily overwhelmed in a rainbow so I leave a gap between the too so that there is at least some pure yellow even after the color blending.
Again water spatters and shimmer spatters in the background for some interest with a bold black sentiment.
This last card involves lots of color mixing which isn't everyone's style so feel free to skip it if it isn't for you. I used several colors including greens, blues, reds, and purples for this background. I opted to leave it a simple stamped image this time around but you could certainly dress it up with your artist markers, colored pencils, or more precise watercolor shading.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Your next stop on the hop is the fabulous Anna Mahtani.
