Happy Valentine's Day: Simple Valentines

 

Hello Crafters! 

Happy Valentine's Day! 

We're not doing anything much today with work and general life schedules being what they are.

We said we weren't going to celebrate at all but somehow I still woke up to chocolates and a note. 

He's pretty much amazing and I am a blessed girl. 

A few weeks back I was suffering from a serious lack of creative mojo. When that happens I like to sit down to play using specific techniques or styles that I love without any pressure to produce something. Today's cards are a result of my play session. 

I started by pulling stamps that I had an immediate idea for. Simple adorable images that I could create with quickly and easily. 

I started by stamping and masking my paper airplane. I stamped the wind trail off the edge to give it a little bit more movement.

With my airplane masked I added some distress ink to the background leaving it lighter across the ceter to draw the eye to the focal point. 

Once I was done ink blending I spattered on some Perfect Pearls for some shine. Why? because I like sparkle and it's my card and I can. :) 

I colored the airplane with my Copic markers, stamped andsentiment, and added some glitter to finish it off. 

One ofthe many things I enjoy about card making is turning my stamps into something else. Here I stamped and masked my card envelope. With my mask in place I stamped the little boy over it so it appears he is holding the Valentine where originally he was holding a snow ball. Such a fun easy way to swith up the image. 

I removed my mask and colored him up with my Copic markers. I added a bit of glitter to the heart on the card but otherwise I kept it really simple which makes my heart happy. 

They may not seem overly complicated but they don't need to be. Or maybe your style is a bit more layered which then do that. They did their job and helped to get me out of my creative funk. Super cute stamps will often do that lol.
