This month's kit has such a romantic feel. As soon as the coverplate with that gorgeous keyhole I kept thinking about how it might be a peek into a whole other world. Soo.. I do I acheive that?
Enter the tri-fold card...
Eeeep. I could not love this more. I was able to acheive this fun metal door handle look my combining som ink blending with the bronze metallic glimmer from Hero Arts. I added a bit of shadow to the intricate parts to really make them pop.
I think this would be such a fun look for leather too!

Let's open it up shall we?!
Instead of going with a traditional green for my foilage I opted for pinks to give a more flowery spring look. I built my scene with more ink blending letting the fabulous stamps from the kit be the star of the show.
A card has to have a place to write a note doesn't it?
The third layer gives you a place to do exactly that. I stamped another sentiment from the set and accented it with more of those pretty butterflies.

ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of the Lion, the witch and the wardrobe. So the moment I saw the thumbnail pic for this video, I knew I had to check it out. That front piece, just wow. The metallic paint totally set it off too. Great kit.

ReplyDeleteThis card is absolutely gorgeous!!! So beautiful! I agree that it gave Narnia feels, even Alice in Wonderland feels with the keyhole. You really brought that background to life with all of the details you added with your copics. And the front cover blew me away. Incredible!

ReplyDeleteTo me this set has more of a “Secret Garden” vibe than Narnia, but I do love the Narnia stories as well.

ReplyDeleteThis card is amazing!!! Give this girl some distress inks, a blender and an idea and she creates leather!!! The design totally reminds me of an antique book in a library and peeking through the keyhole at the journey or adventure yet to come! Kelly said it made her think of the Chronicles of Narnia - an amazing collection and while I see that I also see The Secret Garden or the Little Princess, Heidi… some of my favorites growing up! And yes Kelly, you are right - grass doesn’t grow under well loved swings! (Until the kids that love them are in college or beyond). And I love all of the colors that you chose, another great color scheme for the branch would be lilac/ lavender / periwinkle- as you know, I live on the Gulf Coast and in spring we have beautiful Wisteria that blooms for a long while - not wanting to rush the seasons - spring is lovely down here but I suspect earlier than yours and slips all too quickly into hot, muggy, did I say blistering heat of summer. These products are amazing- can’t wait for my kit to arrive!
