I have a bit of a dramatic card for you today. I used the 36 pan watercolor set but I used it on black and I  AM IN LOVE.
I was just playing around when I discovered that not only do these watercolors show up on black watercolor paper but they are vibrant!

A few things to note about this technique.
First they don't blend like they do on white watercolor paper. I wasn't able to get light to dark gradients like I usually would. However, I found that quite freeing.
I could just drop in color wherever and let it do it's thing.
Second the heat embossing didn't really work on this paper. It almost melted into the paper instead of sitting on top of it. I was still able to use it because I fixed it but it's definitely not worthy.

Ultimately I was thrilled with the way the card worked out. Now I can't wait to try my metallic watercolors with it!

You can watch the entire process in the video below.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Your next stop on the hop needs no introduction...head on over and the fantastic Theresa Calvird

  4. Gorgeous! Love the colors. Btw, I’ve had that same thing happen occasionally with heat embossing sentiments on plain black cardstock. The embossing just melted into the paper. Weird!
