I love this entire release but I was super inspired to create a scene with these sweet bee fairies. I thought they'd make a great little birthday party all gathered together on their flowered branch.
I stamped and masked the images starting with the fairies and then the branch. I filled in the flowers and leaves around them after. In order to create the beautiful transparent look on their wings after I was done stamping all the images masked I went back and stamped the flowers and leaves again in no line ink just where they overlapped the wings. This gives me a soft outline to fill in with my copic markers so it appears as if the flower or leaf continues on behind the wing. This was super easy to do especially with my MISTI.
I chose various hair colors and skin tones in order to make the girls more dynamic. I went with a purple flower to compliment the yellow in their outfits. It's been a while since I've done a full scene card and I love the way this one came out!

ReplyDeleteThat little boy fairy reminds me so much of Peter Pan the way he stands. You can imagine the trouble he gets himself in! Then his worried little sister is not too sure, but his bigger sister knows it's all good. Well, that's the story I see, not sure if it is the one that was in your head when you created this gorgeous card.

ReplyDeleteWell my goodness welcome the CCC design team this month. Looks like they, and us, are lucky to have you. What a clever clever idea to have those darling fairies dancing on a branch. My goodness they are posed perfectly as if that branch was designed just for this idea. And the colors are gorgeous!
