My Monthly Hero Kit October 2022 Blog Hop

 Hello Crafters!

Welcome to the  My Monthly Hero Kit October 2022 Blog Hop! You should have arrived from the fantastic Jessica Frost-Ballas but if you're just popping in you'll want to head over to the Hero Arts Blog
so you don't miss any of the inspiration along the hop.

It also gives you more chances to win this wonderous winter scene kit!

The October Kit has so many fantastic items! The kit itself is $34.99 but the worth is $79. Such a steal! That glitter paper though. 😍

Hero Arts is generously giving away a $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, September 11th at 11:59pm Pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week.

I really wanted to create a beautiful night sky over this sweet sleepy town. I chose to do a pretty fast and easy lift technique with our Liquid watercolors. I only used 4 colors to create this gorgeous sky.

This technique requires laying down lots and lots of water so make sure you tape your piece down. You'll want to add your blues in a ray type pattern. I put down about 4 rays or triangles of color. Continually adding darker colors to those triangles. Add much darker color than you want because they'll dry back a TON.

To your white triangles you'll want to add whatever other color you like. I used pink but you could do green or yellow or purple. Combinations are endless!
The real trick to this technique is removing the color! Use your clean damp paintbrush to remove "swirls" of color from the sky. I removed the color in an "S" pattern from the bottom center of the sky.
Once my piece was dry I spattered on some white paint to create "snow" or stars depending on how you look at it 😊

You can watch the entire process in the video below

For my card using the Merry Rockin' Horse Bundle and Snow Globe Fancy Die I kept it much more traditional.

I used the Hero wax in Gold to get the gorgeous detail to shine on the snow globe combined with stencils, paste and copic coloring! I'll have a video on this one later in the week.

Your next stop on the hop is the amazing Libby Hickson
Thanks so much for dropping by!

Thanks so much for sharing your step-by-step process for creating it. I was already curious about the liquid watercolors and wanting to try them, but now I REALLY can't wait to try experimenting with them. I found your post really interesting and inspiring.
