January Hero Arts My Monthly Hero: Masculine Valentine

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, the January My Monthly Hero kit celebrates the "perfect match". The centerpiece of this kit is dies to create a faux matchbox, which lies flat on your card or project and can be decorated and filled with the numerous stamps and dies included in the kit. There is a beautiful stencil included, perfect for backgrounds or mixed media projects. The kit is rounded out with a pack of fun heart-themed sequins and five sheets of gorgeous cardstock. I really wanted to create a card with a more masculine feel for Valentine's day. I opted for a collage style starting with the background. I used the stencil from the kit ink blending on Granite which is a light gray ink. 

Next, I picked out my color scheme and started stamping! I stamped two outline images in charcoal and then moved on to heat embossing. Each of the sentiments were stamped in Unicorn ink and heat embossed with white. I die cut some of the images with the postage stamp style die and the others I trimmed to a similar size using my paper trimmer.  I added bits of color to my heat embossing using alcohol ink. 

In order to put them all together I used press n' seal to hold everything in place while I adhered them with foam tape over my stenciled background. 

The video below shows the whole card start to finish but it's a long hop.

I couldn't resist using some of the add-ons so I'm just going to share a photo or two :) 

I used the new Stripe Stencil and created ALL. THESE. CARDS.  I know it's amazing. I'll have a video showing how I created all these soon! 

Last but not least did you know Hero Arts has digital stamps too? I used the new Valentine Mug Printable to create this fun scene card using nothing but markers. Just print and color. It made it so easy to get a card done while my little jelly bean was napping!
